Plainfield police are investigating after a man driving a red pickup attempted to kidnap a 7-year-old boy in a subdivision Wednesday afternoon.

It happened in the 24000 block of Nottingham Driven in the Kensington Club Subdivision.
Police describe the suspect as a white male in his forties, about 6′01′, 180 lbs., with longer hair on the sides of his head but balding on top.
He was driving a red pickup truck of unknown make and model. The child noticed there was a covering on the bed of the truck.
