Two Hurt in Chain-Reaction Crash on I-55

Two people were injured in a crash involving three vehicles and a semi-truck Sunday morning on northbound I-55 near Route 126.
Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said two people were taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while 10 other people refused treatment at the scene. Stratton said the call came in around 10:50 a.m.
The wet weather Sunday morning may have contributed to the crash.
“One car hydroplaned and hit the semi and kind of started a chain reaction,” Stratton said.
Illinois State Police are investigating the accident. A state police spokeswoman said no additional information was immediately available early Sunday afternoon.
