The Plainfield Park District is accepting resgistrations for summer day camps that begin June 4.
The schedule is divided into five two-week sessions: Session 1 is June 4to 15; Session 2 is June 18 to 29; Session 3 is July 2 to 13 (no camp on July 4); Session 4 is July 16 to 27; and Session 5 is July 30 to Aug. 10.
All camps meet from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Boy Scout Park, located at the Recreation/Administration Center, 23729 W. Ottawa St., Plainfield.
The park district will offer three camps for different age groups:
Youth Day Camp, for 5½- to 10 year-olds, will include swimming at the Ottawa Street Pool, outdoor games, crafts, theme days, field trips and more. Good behavior will earn campers a trip to the “Camp Corner Store” for snacks and prizes.
The early bird (through May 20) cost per two-week session is $295 for residents and $442.50 for non-residents. The park district will supply each camper with one camp T-shirt for the summer.
Middle School Age Day Camp, for 10- to 12-year-olds, will include three field trips per week plus swimming at the Ottawa Street Pool and more.

Leadership Camp is for participants 13 to 15 years old who will spend time learning the skills it takes to become a good leader. They will also have the opportunity to practice their new skills and assist counselors in leading younger campers with activities, learning valuable leadership skills. Participants will also enjoy one field trip of their own per session.

Extended hours for summer day camp are available from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. for campers whose parents are unable to drop-off and pick-up at designated camp times. The early bird (through May 20) cost per two-week session is $126 for residents and $189 for non-residents.
A payment plan is available for participants attending all five sessions of camp. An additional non-refundable $10 per session ($50 total) is required to hold the child’s spot in camp. Parents must register in-person at the Recreation/Administration Center by April 6 to take advantage of this opportunity.
Parents of registered participants will be able to pick up camp welcome packets at Meet the Counselors Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 30 at the Recreation/Administration Center.
