Novinski Named Principal of Ira Jones

Tom Novinski

On Monday, the District 202 Board of Education named Tom Novinski as the new principal at Ira Jones Middle School.

Novinski, who has been the assistant principal at Ira Jones since 2007, replaces Ed Boswell, who was recently named the district’s new director for middle school administration and personnel.

Novinski, a former seventh- and eighth-grade math teacher at Heritage Grove Middle School and dean of students at Ira Jones Middle School, was named the assistant principal of the year in 2011 by the Illinois Principals Association.

“It is a true honor to be the next principal of Ira Jones Middle School,” Novinski said. “I look forward to building upon the successes of Ira Jones through continual work with the staff, our students and families.”

Boswell praised Novinski and said Ira Jones is in good hands.

“Mr. Novinski has been at Ira Jones for seven years and will continue to be an influential leader for students and staff alike now as the principal,” Boswell said. “His loyalty and commitment are unwavering.”
