Letter: Lions Club Candy Days are Oct. 13 and 14
On October 13th and 14th, 2012 the Plainfield Lions Club will be selling candy on the intersection of Essington and Caton Farm. All the proceeds from this Lions national fundraiser will be donated to families and children in our Plainfield area. In 2011 the Plainfield Lions donated over $15,000 to our areas neediest families for the holidays! Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller. And communities get better. That’s because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy. Our 45,000 clubs and 1.35 million members make the Lions International the world’s largest service club organization.
Candy Day is the premiere fundraiser for the services & programs provided to the hearing & visually impaired in Illinois. This event alone raises over 50 percent of the total operating funds for the Lions International Foundation. Through these donations our Lions International Foundation and your local Plainfield club are able to serve in excess of 18,000 men, women and children each year.
When you see us out on the dates of October 13th and 14th, please consider contributing to the betterment of our Plainfield Community! Donate to the Lions Club of Plainfield 2012 Candy Day!
Thank you,
Tod Schnowske
