Editor’s note: The following is from a press release issued by the Plainfield Police Department:

A Labor Day enforcement sponsored by Plainfield police and the Illinois Department of Transportation Division of Traffic Safety resulted in five arrests for impaired driving and 320 occupant restraint citations.

The Aug. 17 to Sept. 3 enforcement was aimed at reducing highway fatalities and cracking down on drunken drivers and people who failed to buckle up.

The crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety grants through IDOT’s Division of Traffic Safety and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
