Durbin’s Opens Plainfield Location on Monday

Durbin's will open its Plainfield location on Monday, Aug. 6.

The remodeling is done, and the newly hired staff members at Durbin’s will welcome their first diners on Monday.

Located in the former Pom Poms bar and grill at 16031 S. Lincoln Highway, the family owned eatery is the seventh Durbin’s restaurant in the Chicago suburbs.

Owner Tom McAuliffe described Monday as a soft opening for the restaurant, known for its award-winning pizza.

“We’re planning a grand opening for a week or two after that, a big blowout,” he said.

Durbin’s has restaurants in Burbank, Evergreen Park, Midlothian, Tinley ParkPalos Hills and Frankfort. From Aug. 24 to 26, the original Burbank location is celebrating its 25th year with live music and more, including 1987 prices.

The family run chain specializes in pizza, ribs, chicken, steaks, burgers and more.

McAuliffe said patrons can expect the same type of family atmosphere and signature dishes at the Plainfield location.

“Same menu, same management, same family,” he said, but a different look than some of the other Durbin’s restaurants.

The Plainfield location boasts a 4,000-square-foot beer garden with 25 tables and five big-screen TVs, McAuliffe added.
