Tomorrow, Saturday, October 3 is the Plainfield School District’s Homecoming Parade. The parade begins at 9 am and travels through Downtown Plainfield. After the parade, be sure to stay downtown for a bite to eat and some shopping. Traffic and road closure information for the Homecoming Parade is posted on the Village website.

5K early packet pick-up is available on Friday, September 25th from 9am to 4pm and Saturday, September 26th from 9am to 12pm at the Edward Plainfield Campus located at 24600 W 127th Street in Plainfield. Kidz race early packet pick up is available on Friday, September 25th from 9am to 4pm and Saturday, September 26th from 9am to 12pm at the Meijer store located at 13521 S. Route 59 in Plainfield.

Art in the Park: The Plainfield Art League will host a free art show, Art in the Park, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 5 at Village Green Park. The park, at Chicago and Fox River streets near downtown Plainfield, will host area artists who create fine art in many mediums.

The Village of Plainfield and Plainfield Park District will be showing Dennis The Menace on Friday, August 21, at 8:00 p.m., in Settlers’ Park at the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater. Dennis The Menace is a comedy, starring Walter Matthau and Christopher Lloyd, which is rated PG and has a run time of 92 minutes.

Bring some popcorn and enjoy a movie under the stars! Settlers’ Park is located in downtown Plainfield, southeast of the intersection of Lockport Street and Van Dyke Road and just south of the Village Hall. Parking is available in the Village Hall Parking Lot, on Village Center Drive, and on Van Dyke Road. Terraced seating is available. Attendees are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. If inclement weather is forecast, the movie will be cancelled. Helpful information for enjoying movies at Settlers’ Park:
- Parking is available in the Village Hall Parking Lot, on Village Center Drive, and on Van Dyke Road.
- Terraced seating is available. Attendees are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, and even bug spray.
- Concessions will be sold by the Friends of the Plainfield Park District Foundation at the new Settlers’ Park Concession Facility.
