Village Restaurant Poll Results In

Local residents recently voiced their opinions on what restaurants they would like to see in addition to Plainfield’s current dining options, and the results are in!

The Village recently ran two online restaurant polls to assess what new restaurants residents would like to see in Plainfield.  The first poll asked residents “What ‘sit down’ restaurant(s) would you like to see in Plainfield?”  Italian restaurants were the favorite, with Maggiano’s Little Italy and Olive Garden receiving one-third of the votes.  Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria with 13% of the votes, Egg Harbor Café with 11%, and Romano’s Macaroni Grill with 9% of the votes rounded out the top five choices.

The second restaurant web poll asked residents “What ‘fast casual’ restaurants would you like to see in Plainfield?”  Chipotle Mexican Grill and Potbelly Sandwich Works each received 15% of the votes while Corner Bakery Café came in third with 13% of the votes followed by Sonic (11%) and Noodles & Company (10%) in fourth and fifth respectively.

Over 2,200 votes were cast for the two restaurant polls. The polls are part of the Village’s economic development efforts and the Planning Department will use the results in their recruitment efforts and when working with developers to attract restaurants to Plainfield.

The Village encourages area residents to patronize the more than 60 wonderful restaurants located throughout town.  Downtown Plainfield and the Route 59 and Route 30 corridors are home to a variety of dine-in and take-out options ranging from fast food to ethnic dining, from pizza and sandwiches to steaks and pasta, and from popular chains to family-owned restaurants.
