Plainfield Storm Pics from July 30th, 2009

Here are some views of a storm rolling over Plainfield on July 30th. It looked threatening, but we didn’t hear any reports of a tornado. Ever had to explain to the kids why we can’t run to the end of a rainbow? FYI: It’s nearly impossible to reach, because the rainbow is an optical effect which depends on the location of the viewer. When walking towards the end of a rainbow, it will move further away. (wikipedia.com)

Saw some rotation in the clouds:

Half of the sky was clear and sunny; half was a dark blanket of clouds:

Then, the clouds opened a bit for the sun to shine through:
